JOSIE MARTHA THOMPSON
DECEMBER 27, 1959 - FEBRUARY 16, 2010Josie Thompson, 50, of Richwood, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2010, with her family at her bedside. She was born December 27, 1959, in San Antonio, Texas, to Joseph and Isabell Guia Ybarra.
She is survived by her husband, James Edward "Tall" Thompson, Sr.; mother, Isabell G. Ybarra of Gastonia, North Carolina; daughters, Angelica Thompson-Stone and husband, Travis, their children, Martha Diaz, Tiara and Jordan Stone of Lake Jackson, Tasha Thompson and fiance, Kevin Penrice, her daughter, Kaila Sweeny of Houston, Stephanie Thompson and boyfriend, Joshua Garcia, her son, Daniel Perez of Lake Jackson; sons, Steve Thompson and son, Joseph Roman Cruz of San Antonio, James Thompson, Jr. and girlfriend, Cathy Morgan and his children, Anthony James and Caitlyn Marie of Lake Jackson.
She is also survived by sisters, Delores Longoria and husband, Jesus of Bay City, sisters-in-law, Delfina Ybarra, Mary Ann Thompson-Bowers and husband, Ronnie of Lawndale, California and Richwood, Georgia Thompson-Cravens and husband, Charles of West Columbia, Ruthie Thompson of West Columbia, Diane Thompson-McCormick and husband, Roland, Sr. of West Columbia, Alfreda Thompson-Griffin and husband, Charles of Brazoria; brothers, Joe Ybarra and wife, Irma of San Antonio, Carlos Ybarra of Lakeland, Florida, Robert Ybarra and wife, Julie of Gastonia, North Carolina; brothers-in-law, Sampson L. Thompson, Jr. and wife, Diane of West Columbia, Ellis Thompson of West Columbia and Elton Thompson and wife, Tonya of Pensacola, Florida; 29 nieces and nephews; and good friends, Miranda and son, Jaden of Oyster Creek, host of friends from Elks Lodge #2200 bingo and Estella.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Ybarra; brother, Jesus Ybarra; father and mother-in-law, Sampson L. Sr. and Earline Thompson.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 P.M., Saturday, February 20, 2010, at St. Jerome's Catholic Church with Fr. Jim Lynes officiating.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, February 19, 2010, at Stroud Funeral Home in Clute.
